Anime Gems (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates animegems.com and the AnimeGems iOS app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Information We Collect

When you create an account in the AnimeGems iOS app, we collect:

• Email address — used for account authentication and password recovery
• User ID — a unique identifier assigned to your account
• Watchlist data — anime titles you save or organize into lists, synced to provide the service

Account creation is optional. You can use the app without signing up, in which case no personal data is collected.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain your account and synced watchlist
• To authenticate you when you sign in
• To enable watchlist sync across devices

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your data for advertising or tracking across apps.

Data Storage

Account and watchlist data is stored securely using Supabase, a hosted database service with encryption at rest and in transit. Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — account authentication and data storage
• Vercel Analytics — anonymous page view data for the website
• AniList API — anime catalog data (no personal data shared)
• JustWatch API — streaming availability data (no personal data shared)
• Apple Sign-In / OAuth — if you choose to sign in with a third-party provider

Cookies

The AnimeGems website does not use tracking cookies. Vercel may set minimal session cookies required for site functionality. The iOS app does not use cookies. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies on any platform.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Upon account deletion, all associated data (email, user ID, watchlist) will be permanently removed.

Children's Privacy

AnimeGems is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
