Anime Gems (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates animegems.com and the AnimeGems iOS app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Information We Collect

When you sign in on the AnimeGems website or iOS app, account features process:

• Email address — used for account authentication and password recovery
• User ID — a unique identifier assigned to your account
• Watchlist data — saved anime and, on the website, manga titles, reading progress and custom-list membership used to provide list features

Account creation is optional. Guest lists are stored on your device or browser. Even without an account, requests to hosting, analytics, advertising, image and catalog providers can include network and device information such as your IP address.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain your account and synced watchlist
• To authenticate you when you sign in
• To enable watchlist sync across devices

The website includes analytics and advertising integrations. These providers process requests under their own policies; optional account and list data is used to provide account and list features.

Data Storage

Account and cloud list data is stored using Supabase. Browser storage also retains guest lists, account-scoped cached lists and pending changes for retry. Signing out does not erase browser copies. You may request account or data deletion by contacting us. Shared account infrastructure can affect other McKittrick products; support must confirm the requested scope before processing deletion.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — account authentication and data storage
• Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights — website usage, performance and feature events; search and filter interactions may be included
• AniList, MyAnimeList/Jikan, Kitsu and MangaDex — catalog, ratings and image requests, including searched titles and network information
• JustWatch — title-based US viewing-offer lookups
• Google AdSense — website advertising integration; its requests and storage are governed by Google policies
• Apple Sign-In / OAuth — if you choose to sign in with a third-party provider

Cookies

The website uses authentication cookies and browser storage for list features and preferences. Analytics and advertising integrations may process device information and use their own storage. Browser settings can limit cookies and local storage; doing so may prevent sign-in, persistence or retry of pending changes.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Support will confirm the account and product scope of a deletion request. Local browser/device copies and third-party records may require separate handling.

Children's Privacy

AnimeGems is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
